Before listing items for sale or purchasing items for sale please read the following Terms and Conditions carefully:

Sellers

Participation in the World Gem Society Business Section is open to all WGS Members and Registered Gem Dealers. Only WGS Registered Gem Dealers may sell in the Wholesale to the Trade section. All sellers must be approved by the World Gem Society office before posting items for sale.

The World Gem Society Business Section now offers both FOR SALE and AUCTION listings. Please note that Request for QUOTE is NOT a selling method...it is a request for bid for you to buy. Please do not list items for sale under REQUEST for QUOTE.

The World Gem Society reserves the right to move, edit or remove any posting on the WGS Business Section at our descretion. In the event that a listing is materially changed or removed the fees for that item listing will be refunded.

All items for sale must be related to the published listing of categories and must be jewelry and gemstone related. Timely shipping and delivery of sold goods is expected.

The following are prohibited items and/or practices:

• No selling of anything outside the realm of gemstones, gemology, jewelry, are related items or categories of items.
• No selling of any pornographic, religious, political or otherwise objectionable material.
  
• Accurate descriptions should be used. Terms like "museum quality" should be avoided unless the item is indeed of interest to museums.
• No false claims of discounted prices unless documentation of where the item has been offered for sale or sold at the higher price.
• We do not allow the use of creative trade names such as "green amethyst" or "yellow tanzanite". Only accepted gemstone names that properly describe the gemstone. If you have a question on the use of a gem name please contact the WGS office.
  

Please insure that you use proper terms and description with full disclosure for all items posted for sale.

Buyers

All buyers will abide by the World Gem Society concept of fairness and honest dealing. When you click to make a purchase that constitutes a legal contract between you and the seller.

Read the For Sale listings carefully and make sure you understand the item being offered. If you are not sure of an item description, contact the seller and ask questions.

When requested and if required the World Gem Society will serve as arbitrator to decide any disputes. It is agreed by all parties that the decision of the World Gem Society office will be the final and binding decision.

The World Gem Society reserves the right to withdraw the buying rights and abilities, including access to this website, of any buyer who fails to abide by the rules of fairness and honest dealing with other members.

General

All particpants of the World Gem Society Business Section agree to hold harmless the World Gem Society and all employees for any dispute that may arise out of any transaction that may take place. The postings are the sole responsibility of the seller and the decision to buy is the sole responsibility of the buyer.

The World Gem Society is not responsible for the content of the listings nor any claims made therein. In the event of a dispute regarding represented quality the decision of the World Gem Society will be binding on all parties.

The World Gem Society will not intervene in any dispute regarding a selling price.

The World Gem Society reserves the right to remove and ban any seller or buyer who fails to abide by the concept of fairness and ethical dealing, and may also remove any member who is found to deal in false or misrepresented goods.

The World Gem Society reserves the right to remove and ban any member who is just plain mean spirited and cannot get along with others, including sending nasty emails to other members.
